LGRA Large Gazehound Racing Association (USA)
This is similar to the straight racing done by Whippets. Hounds race 200 yard straight "tracks" in heats graded by speed/ability to determine overall high point winner. Winners receive points/placements towards titles. All dogs must wear a muzzle, and the large dogs are either handslipped or come out of starting boxes (if the sponsoring club has one large enough). Eligible breeds are: purebred Afghan Hounds, Basenji, Borzoi, Greyhounds, Ibizan Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Pharaoh Hounds, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds and Sloughi.
